EXPO REVESTIR: HISTORIC EDITION OF BUSINESS, TRENDS AND CONTENT

The 16th EXPO REVESTIR, held from March 13th to 16th, 2018 ended with the visit of another 62 thousand unique visitors.

The 16th edition of EXPO REVESTIR was successfully concluded at the debut of the new format. For Antonio Carlos Kieling, president of the fair and superintendent of ANFACER, "the event exceeded all expectations in terms of visitation, quality of the booths and exhibition of products, in addition to the contents that were developed during the four days of event. I would highlight the set of actions taken to manage the public, with the segmentation of the event days in two moments: Business Days and Creative Days, which fully met the expectations of the strategic plan established", he says. The INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION received more than 3,500 highly qualified professionals who attended the lectures of great national and international names.

THE PRITZKERS TOYO ITO AND PAULO MENDES DA ROCHA GAVE A SPEECH AT THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

The FORUM brought together, on the last day of EXPO REVESTIR, two respected Pritzker winning architects, who spoke on Architect's Day and exclusively for the event. The afternoon was started by Antonio Carlos Kieling and Fernando Mungioli, Publisher of Projeto Magazine. "We were honored with the presence and thoughts of renowned architects over the past 16 years. We are honored to receive two names such as Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Toyo Ito, one of the most important names in contemporary architecture", said Kieling.

The architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha took the microphone and spoke about the importance of São Paulo, its virtues and its problems. "Construction can not be simply mass production to sell. The idea must always be build to solve problems of space and not just think of the profit that it will bring".

The acclaimed Toyo Ito continued the afternoon of knowledge and presented the genius of his projects by detailing the most emblematic creations, as well as the architectural details of his original and striking works. Among his explanations, Toyo said that "Tokyo is going through a very intense urban renewal due to the Olympics in 2020. The neighborhoods are being destroyed due to the verticalization, which makes the architecture without personality", he reveals. "Statistics show that the population will decline over the years, so actions like this do not make sense. We need long-term planning", he said.

The afternoon continued with the debate that brought Toyo Ito and Paulo Mendes, mediated by the journalist Fernando Mungioli. Among the themes, architecture in the big cities, including possible solutions, and the discussion of the relationship between public and private space.
